Toronto, March 26 – Workers United celebrates the first anniversary of its founding this week with three more victories. This past week three more workplaces, through OLRB 
votes, have democratically chosen Workers United over UNITE HERE to represent them at work. The workers of Prescott Finishing, Filterfab and Sunny Sports voted 100% in favour of Workers United. 2000 workers from 22 workplaces have held similar votes since September 2009 reiterating the choice they made in March 2009 to leave UNITE HERE. These workers show the true democratic spirit that is driving Workers United into the future.
“It’s great that our workplace victory over UNITE HERE could align with Workers United one year anniversary.” said Joe Vout, a frame operator at Prescott Finishing. “I’m really proud of all that the union has accomplished since we took our fate into our own hands a year ago!
